Our Mission

To provide scholarships to young women between the ages of 17 and 24 living in the Greater Derry area recognizing their outstanding achievements in scholastic aptitude, talent, character, community service and poise within the guidelines of the Miss NH and Miss America Organizations.

Organization Profile

Miss Derry Scholarship Program, Inc.* was incorporated in 1986 as a community service project. It's success has been greater than we imagined. In 2000 we awarded over $16,000 in scholarships, making us the 3rd highest awarding local pageant in the United States. In 2003 we awarded $28,450.00. Due to some financial difficulties caused by the loss of our primary sponsor, we were forced to delay our program normally held in June until January of 2005 where we awarded $4,500.00. Our Miss Derry 2006 program was back on schedule in June 2005 and we awarded $11,500.00 in scholarships. We are now in control of our own fund raising efforts and we are anticipating a stable future for our program. This year our 22nd. Annual Miss Derry Scholarship Program awarded $20,500.00 in scholarships with Miss Greater Derry receiving a $6,550.00 scholarship award with her title.

The Miss Greater Derry Scholarship Pageant is a preliminary event to the Miss NH and Miss America Pageant
