Kendall Wipff, Miss Greater Derry 2013

Derry NH, June 22, 2012

The Miss Derry Scholarship Program is proud to announce the selection of the 26th. Miss Greater Derry.

Kendall Wipff was selected by a panel of five judges from a field of fourteen contestants Friday night June 22, 2012 at the 26th. annual Miss Greater Derry Scholarship Pageant to be awarded the title of Miss Greater Derry and the right to represent the Derry area in the 2013 Miss New Hampshire competition which is a preliminary pageant to the Miss America pageant to be held in Las Vegas next January. With the title, Kendall was awarded a $5,500.00 scholarship. Kendall was also voted as Miss Congeniality by the other contestants that night and received an additional $50.00 scholarship.

Kendall is a 19 year old resident of Andover, Ma. And a sophomore at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH majoring in Sociology.
She would like to enter into a career in counseling at the High School level.

Kendall is an accomplished vocalist. She sang the National Anthem for the
Miss Greater Derry pageant a few years ago and decided to pursue the Miss NH crown. She successfully competed and won the Miss Auburn crown last year.

Kendall's platform is the “Kind Campaign”, an anti-bullying campaign on the national level. Their mission statement is:
Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized movement, documentary and school program based upon the powerful belief in KINDness, that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl ‘crime.”

Kendall has partnered with the "Kind Campaign" in order to bring this program to the state of New Hampshire. She recently presented a Kind Campaign workshop at the NH National Honor Society Spring Conference at UNH, making contacts with many peer leaders interested in helping her to bring the "Kind Campaign" to their schools. As Miss Greater Derry, she will continue to work with the "Kind Campaign" to achieve her goal of holding four Kindness workshops at four area schools. Kendall will also work with organizations that she has already established connections with, such as Girls Inc., presenting "Kind Campaign" workshops. Kendall's goal is to spread the "Kind Campaign" throughout the state and establish school clubs all over New Hampshire. Linda Daugherty, playwright and author of the play “The Secret Life of Girls” said it best: “If there’s one thing we can all be, we may not all be beautiful, we may not all be smart, we may not all be talented, but we can all be kind.”
